About Besa
Besa is on a mission to transform the volunteer experience by bringing the community together in meaningful, impactful ways. Besa is an Albanian term that means “to keep the promise,” and more than a decade into its work, Besa is keeping its promise to Central Ohio. Since launching in 2012, our agency has rallied 98,000 volunteers, giving 235,000 hours through 15,000 service projects, and it has facilitated $110M in community impact. This mission extends beyond numbers; it’s about strengthening the very fabric of our community. By connecting individuals with opportunities to give back, Besa fosters a sense of unity, compassion, and shared responsibility. Through these collective efforts, we address immediate needs, build lasting relationships, and contribute to the overall well-being and resilience of our community.

About the Role
At Besa, we believe that the volunteer experience has the power to strengthen companies, communities, and individuals alike. As the Volunteer Experience Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in bringing that to life by helping our business partners grow their volunteer programs in meaningful, lasting ways. Through relationship-building, thoughtful coordination, and hands-on support, you’ll curate volunteer opportunities that connect business partners and their employees to causes that matter — strengthening their teams while driving real impact in the community. This role is ideal for someone who loves building connections, thrives on organization and creativity, and believes in the power of service to spark positive change.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll bring Besa’s mission to life by building strong partnerships, curating impactful volunteer experiences, and supporting the operations that drive lasting community change.

    • Manage volunteer opportunities on the Besa platform, ensuring a seamless experience from project posting through participant engagement.
    • Lead volunteer experiences when needed, including event-day logistics and supply coordination, to ensure an exceptional experience for all participants.
    • Support organizational initiatives such as supply drives, annual fundraisers, and WISH holiday drive.

Program Operations

    • Capture and celebrate volunteer stories by uploading photos and narratives that highlight community impact and support marketing and reporting efforts.
    • Track volunteer engagement and program outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely data for partner reporting and internal evaluation.
    • Partner with the Business Partnerships Manager to implement strategies that strengthen partner engagement and overall program success.
    • Undertake additional duties as assigned, contributing flexibly to the dynamic needs of the organization and furthering the overall mission of Besa.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years of experience in project management, event planning, or program coordination, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong and engaging communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and nurture relationships across volunteers, business partners, and nonprofits.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in virtual, in-person, and hybrid environments.
