NBC4 Season of Giving with Besa: Fill a holiday wish list for a central Ohio senior

It’s time once again for the NBC 4Today Season of Giving with Besa. We are beginning once again with the launch of WISH, a chance to fill a wish list for a local senior in need.

What started in 2012 with just 26 seniors has grown to over 2,000 seniors in 13 counties. The concept is simple: You sign up, receive a list, wrap the gift and drop it off to make someone’s season brighter.

Even though the focus of WISH is on the act of giving, those who participate seem to receive so much more. People like mother-daughter duo LaRae Keppen and Elle Hatch, who have been participating since Elle was a little girl.

“It’s a lot of what you would think a traditional Christmas should be like,” Elle said.  “Giving to others and especially those who are in need.”

It’s an event Elle’s entire family looks forward to each year

“It just makes your whole season feel so much better. And you get really a new perspective on everything,” she said.
