MDK invests $25,000 in Besa to meet rising community needs through volunteerism  

Columbus, Ohio—The first year Columbus-based law firm MDK first partnered with Besa, 100 of their employees volunteered for 50 different projects communitywide—an impressive feat. In the eight years since, the MDK team has continued showing up in even more meaningful and powerful ways: 1,500 MDK volunteers have given thousands of hours to complete nearly 500 projects.

Now, federal disruptions have left families scrambling. Food pantries are strained. Housing instability is rising. And MDK is responding with its biggest commitment yet.

The firm will not only continue supporting Besa through partnership and volunteerism, but it is also granting Besa $25,000 to broaden its community impact. This financial gift will:

• Strengthen nonprofit capacity and resilience by helping Besa reach its goal of facilitating 2,000 volunteer projects for roughly 200 nonprofits in 2026.
• Build volunteer infrastructure and community connectedness by helping Besa improve its digital platform, which connects individuals across the community with volunteer opportunities.
• Reach under-resourced neighborhoods by helping Besa expand partnerships and prioritize initiatives that strengthen community revitalization, housing stability and the environment.

MDK, a firm that provides legal and professional services and specializes in mortgage servicing and vacation ownership, is based in Columbus and has offices in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando, Indianapolis and Louisville.

In 2026, MDK will also begin exploring how to expand their impact through Besa beyond Columbus and into their other offices across the country.
